Despite newly-installed Cross Country Captain Jack Gavin confidently setting off from campus in the wrong direction towards Crediton, the Club's first race of the season was a resounding success and bodes well for the coming season. A 1-2 from Vicky Budd and Steph McCall in the Ladies' race, a debut win for Anders Grahl and 7th place for Mike Robinson sent a powerful message to the rest of the SW Combined Services League, while outstanding debuts from Lydia Trow in 4th and Joe Donkin in 11th are an excellent sign of things to come this year. A strong performance was made by the 26-strong team, with some taking to the Cross Country trails for the first time, amidst others who have been traipsing through the mud for many years. We are hoping to continue this success for the remainder of the season, with our next race in the Services League scheduled for next Wednesday. I'm sure we are all eagerly anticipating the notorious steps of Dartmouth!
