Social sec and loveable rogue Jack Fitsall is up first in our interview series.
When and why did you join the Club?
I joined the club at the very start of my first year because I was a competitive athlete and wanted to compete at the highest level available.
What has been the highlight of your time with EUAC?
The highlight of my time has probably been the BUCs competitions. I've been to the cross country twice - once competing seriously and once when I was just running to keep fit and they were both absolutely fantastic weekends. Great for team bonding and some fantastic memories, same with BUCS Outdoors!
No regrets really, don't think I'm that sort of person!
What are you planning to do in the future? What have you learned or experienced during your time with us that will help you after University?
I'm planning on going into marketing for a couple of years and seeing how I fare and whether I enjoy it. Most of my learning from the club comes from my role as social sec which has helped me practise communication and organisation, and made me even more confident.
A parting message?
A final word from me: EUAC may not top the tables at BUCS, or dominate any races other than the military league, but I've met some friends for life, had some fantastic experiences and made memories which I'll cherish forever. Being part of EUAC has been a defining factor in my university experience and I would not change the club for anything.
Thank you, Jack.
