The 2013-14 British Athletics Cross Challenge Series got underway at Ashton Court today (Sunday 27 October) with the Bristol Cross Challenge. The tough undulating course was made even more difficult by very strong winds and heavy bursts of rain but EUAC's hard-core cross country duo had a couple of storming runs.
After a 3.5 mile walk from Bristol Temple Meads to the course location at Ashton Court (with a few minor detours!), both Ollie's were fairly daunted by the presence of "essentially all the UK cross country team for the European Champs"!! (Dewi Griffiths eventual winner)
However 4 undulating laps and 8.29, suprisingly mudd-less kilometers later and EUAC heads could most definitely be held high even amongst such illustrious competition. Results as follows...
21st Ollie Garrod (31:57)
31st Ollie Andrew (34:55)
A cracking start to the UK Cross Challenge for the club! Next stop en-route to Birmingham for the finale? Cardiff 19th January. More details to be announced nearer the time!!
